"There's such a lot of different Annes in me. I sometimes think that is why I'm such a troublesome person. If I was just the one Anne it would be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be half so interesting."

the gratitude journal

this week, I really noticed the little things in my life. I took the time. It is like there has been a shift in my conciousness, in my soul. I feel more settled. Is it because I am taking time not to rush, because I am noticing the tiny things to be joyful about? the past week, Joe & I went for a walk nearly every afternoon. we drive to Katoomba, walk down the hill to Echo Point then back up again. A LONG walk. I took my camera along one afternoon, just incase and noticed these gorgeous old gates. I love them! They are years old, what stories they would tell. Did a suitor walk through that gate to ask his love's hand in marriage? Did a postie walk through this gate to deliver a telegram to a mother whose son was killed at war? the happy times & the sad times, all make us who we are. Past & present.

I love pictures of old doors and gates, I collect them if I see a postcard of them or I take photos of interesting ones. There is something so symbolic about them. You are a brave girl putting up your photo, but you look lovely on it - but I love your gorgeous silver dancing shoes. Yes, we should all take time to notice things, I was saying the other day, people hurry to much and it is making time speed up.

We think alike because whenever I see old gates or doors, I always wonder the history behind it:-) With our busy lives, we often forget to see the little things around us and we often need a reminder to look for them! Hugs xox

I agree with everyone - I love windows, doors, gates - anything that is an entrance to something new and as yet undiscovered by me. I think the old saying "stop and smell the roses" is something we could all do more of. We live in such a frenzy most of the time and things just happen around us without notice. Good for you, Robyn - you're noticing!

Lovely post Robyn, I too love gates, doors and windows...
entrances and exits, what stories they could tell.
Living in the moment, if we can manage it, is the best way isn't it..?

It's amazing what we see when we reframe the world around us, take the time to think, to ponder, to dream. Lovely post Robyn.

I love old gates and doors. Or even new ones if they are artistic in some way. We all need to slow down and find what we are grateful for.

I love old gates and old doors and doorways. When we were able to visit France I always wanted to stop and take a photo or buy the odd postcard that shows one. To me it's the symbol of entry to a world beyond them. Thanks for sharing these.
XOXO

Hi miss*R

I've missed reading you. We still don't have internet at the house.

My husband went to the next town on Saturday to look at our post office box. He said I got a package, but I have not seen it yet. God, it's so complex out here.

So I loved reading this post. So much beauty, so much happiness. I feel a wave a goodness washing over me. Thank you.

Great photos Miss*R!!!! The one with the ivy on it is my favourite.
I am on to this gratitude thing, the Simple Abundance book has been mentioned on a few blogs, and it seems the Universe is telling me something. And YOU were the messenger! HOpe you are well.

I have to agree with everyone of course. I too love gates. I have an entire file of pics of doorways that I am drawn to. I guess I hope to walk through a doorway and on the other side is the life I want. I'll use them someday I guess. I love the ivy on the gate.
