the autumn ball

the faeries are busy in my garden getting the trees ready for their autumn ball. They have started to dress the trees in the autumn finery - leaves of gold, russet, burgundy and copper. over the weekend, they told me to get off my behind and get on with my job as 'official faery photographer' - they have been doing their work and were a little peeved that I had not being doing mine - they didn't take my search for my cornish roots seriously....

so I went for a wander in Leura and snapped away. . .

above is an avenue of trees - the faeries are having a hard time getting this family to decid just what colour to go with this year. . some are being difficult, they just don't want to shed their comfortable summer clothes..
as you see below, at least these twins have decided to go to the ball in matching burgundy gowns - making my faery friends job alot easier. . .

this gorgeous golden colour seems to be quite popular with many trees this year. . .

and another view of the trees in the autumn ball gowns - the faeries certainly have their job cut out for them this year with the array of colours available!

gorgeous colours, I love those deep burgandy tones. You have autumn on your doorstep and I saw my first swallow of the summer today, as they have returned.

Beautiful! Just as I was shocked to hear of your Spring when we were heading into winter, I am just as surprised again (stupidly enough) that you are heading into fall.
That is hard to wrap the mind around! Your garden is glorious Robyn. The faeries abound!

That was a very fun walk. Beautiful color. I don't think we ever had the vibrant colors with our last fall.

Sorry to hear you cant' get into my blog...I haven't heard that from any other people. Hope it was just temporary.

Take care,
Connie

Fabulous colour Robyn, and great piccies. I love the burgundy ones.

I think the faeries may be concerned you will move your affections over to the Cornish piskies, spriggans, bockles and knockers...!!!

cool fall picture. Do they have maple trees down in Australia?

The trees around my place haven't open up and let the leaves spread out.
On the edge.

Wow - what amazing colors!! I love fall! It's my favorite time of year! We're coming into spring here, and I like that too, but nothing can beat crisp fall air and the brilliant trees!

Beautiful photos - the gowns are lovely in their burgundy splendor. In that first photo they look all lined up for a proper dance where the partners face one another at a ball. I can hear the music swell and the faeries clapping their hands in glee.
XOXO

Beautiful ball gowns these trees are wearing! Fall is my favorite time of year lucky you! There is a magic about this autumn season...the little fairies and elves have their paintboxes out and are doing their masterpieces in colors of the fire. I am sure you can feel that magic in your soul too. Be of good cheer my friend...and thanks for the invite! I will make some nice pear tea and sit myself down and enjoy! Love to you...xxxooo
